Christian Community House on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison
Any Christian college student—or student seriously considering following Christ—who is interested in joining the community is welcome to apply. Students have joined us from many countries (including Germany, USA, Singapore, Korea, and the Philippines) and degree levels (Associates to PhD).
The Phos (ΦΩΣ) House is home to twenty-six students and staff from several countries. It is staffed by full-time members of YWAM whose passion is to see the lives of university students changed for God. These staff are available for prayer support, encouragement, and of course, friendship.

You can expect this as a member of the Phos House community:
Our house is not just a room to rent. It’s a commitment to a community of faith.
Personal attention and prayer. One staff member is specifically committed to pray for you and will meet with you on a regular basis.
Leadership opportunities. Every student in the house will be a part of working together on housekeeping and/or some aspect of community life. There will be opportunities to help with worship night, activities, hospitality, housekeeping duties, outreach, cooking/meal plan and more. This will be a place for you to learn to work together and take leadership and ownership of the life of the house
Learning environment. You came to university to learn, and we want to help you do just that. The Memorial Library and College Library are within walking distance. We also have a computer lab with high speed internet access and wireless access throughout the house. The Phos House is quieter than the dorms so it will be easier to focus on your studies.
We know there is more to life than book knowledge, though. As a community, we can support each other as we all grapple with how university course work fits into God’s kingdom.
Outreach opportunities. Each year during university breaks (winter, spring, summer), we send out small teams to do evangelism and service projects. Past teams have gone to Mexico, Jamaica, Hayward WI, NYC, Wichita KS, California, and Haiti.

Fun! Our first floor is devoted to community. We’ve got a living room, a ping pong table, TV/entertainment area, computer lab, prayer room and more.
