The Phos House is on-campus housing for college students intent on developing their relationship with God in a community environment. It has been home to 160 students from 30 countries since it began operating in 1999. It is for any Christian college student—or student seriously considering following Christ. But it is much more than a place to live. YWAM Madison staff, students, and volunteers create a support network and environment to help students grow spiritually and academically. We offer a meal plan, host Bible studies, discussion groups, and community events, and coordinate local outreaches with area churches and campus ministries.
Located at 602 Langdon Street in downtown Madison, the Phos House is staffed by full-time members of YWAM whose passion is to see the lives of university students changed for God. “Phos” is the Greek word for “light” and it embodies our purpose, which is to shine with the light of Christ in each others’ lives, in the community, and to the ends of the earth.
Formerly one of the first sorority houses on the UW-Madison campus, the Phos House has 20+ bedrooms, several common living spaces, a kitchen and cafeteria, and quiet rooms for study.
